Steve Jobs (Steven Paul Jobs) was the co-founder, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple, chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar, member of the Walt Disney Company, founder, chairman and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of NeXT, American business magnate and investor.

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California and was put up for adoption. Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Schieble are biological parents of Steve Jobs and Paul and Clara Jobs were adopted, parents. Steve Jobs like his father’s craftsmanship, when Steve Jobs was ten he used to hang out with neighborhood engineers and deeply involved in electronics.  He attended Reed College in 1972 dropped out in the same year.

Steve Wozniak (Co-founder of Apple Inc.) designed a video game with a name Pong, he took it to Steve Jobs and Jobs took it to Atari (Video Game Company). Nolan Bushnell (Co-founder of Atari) thought that the video game was designed by Steve Jobs and gave a technician job to Steve at Atari. Steve lead a simple life by working at Atari and saved some money for his Indian trip.

Studying Zen Buddhism, Steve traveled through India in mid-1974 to visit Neem Karoli Baba at Kainchi Ashram with his friend Daniel Kottke. Trip to India became incomplete because Neem Karoli Baba died in 1973 so they trekked to an ashram of Haidakhan Babaji. They spent almost 7 months in India, most of the time jobs and Daniel spent their time traveling on buses from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. Jobs changed his appearance by shaving his head and wearing traditional Indian clothing. He also experienced LSD, later in an interview he said that taking LSD was one of the important things he had done in his life.

After 7 months in India Jobs returned to the United States of America from India. He spent some period of time at “All One Farm” a spiritual community in Oregon. Chrisann Brennan wife of Steve jobs joined with Steve in the same period and both became practitioners of Zen Buddhism.

Jobs started living with his parents again by converting their backyard into a Bedroom with a mat, candle, books, sleeping bag and a meditation Pillow.  Steve Jobs then returned to his job at Attari to create a circuit board for a video game.

According to Nolan Bushnell (Establisher of Atari Inc.), Atari offered $100 for each TTL chip that was eliminated in the machine. As Steve having knowledge about the circuits he made a deal with Wozniak (Co-founder of Apple) to minimize the number of chips and to equally share the amount. Wozniak reduced the TTL count to 46 which was very tight, impossible to reproduce the assembly line. According to Wozniak, Steve Jobs said that Atari gave him only $700 instead of $5000 paid out. Wozniak thought that the share was $350 and he didn’t know about the actual share for the next 10 years. Wozniak said if Jobs needed that money and asked him about it he would have given it to him.

Wozniak Designed a low cost digital “Blue Box” to generate the notes that manipulate telephone network which will allow free long distance calls. It took 6 months to manufacture the blue box. Steve and Wozniak decided to sell that product, sales went good. Steve got an idea of designing and manufacturing electronics so it will be fun and profitable too.

Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on 1st April 1976. Their productions and Wozniak’s Apple 1 and Apple II were huge successful mass-produced personal computers. Steve Jobs identified the potential of  Xerox Alto (Computer with GUI and can be operated with the mouse), so they developed Apple Lisa in 1983 and apples famous Macintosh was introduced in 1984 the first personal computer with GUI. A few years later Steve was forcefully pushed out of Apple. So Steve Jobs Decided to start a company NeXT (Computer Development company) with a few of the employees from Apple.

When Apple Inc. is facing severe share loss of revenues, Steve Jobs was asked to merge NeXT into Apple to make the company profitable. So Steve Jobs merged NeXT into the apple and became CEO of Apple in 1997. Steve Jobs worked very closely with designers to improve the production line and beginning the “Think Different” Campaign”.

A few years later Steve Jobs resigned from his position as CEO because of this health issue. Tim Cook took charge as CEO of Apple Inc. after Steve Jobs resignation.
