Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company which is famous for producing semiconductor chips for computers. Intel Corporation is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA. It is the second largest semiconductor manufacturing company where Samsung stands in the first place. Intel Corporation was ranked no 46 in fortune 500 lists of the united state’s corporations by revenue.
Intel Corporation supplies processors for Computer Manufacturing companies like Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Apple. They also Manufacture integrated Circuits, flash memories, Graphic chips, processors, communication devices, computing devices, and motherboard chipsets.
On July 18, 1968, Intel Corporation was founded by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore in association with the executive leadership of Andrew Grove. The name Intel became brand of microprocessors and chips as Robert Noyce was the co-founder of first integrated circuits. Even though Intel manufactured its world’s first commercial microprocessor in 1971, Intel is only known for its development of SRAM and DRAM memory chips until 1981. As these microprocessors became a huge success for personal computers manufacturing Microprocessors because of their primary business.
Microchip manufacturer Intel started investing heavily in new microprocessor designs to change the computer revolution. In this period Intel became influencing distributor of microprocessors for Personal computers manufacturers, particularly they dominated the business of (AMD) Advanced Micro Processor.
There are multiple versions of Intel Microprocessor released like 4-bit, 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit, Pentium, Celrom and Intel core processors. Core i3, i4, i5, i7 ware released in different generations. 7th generation Core/Kaby Lake/Skylake (X-series Processors)/Apollo Lake, 8th generation Core/Coffee Lake/Kaby Lake and 9th generation Core/Coffee Lake were few latest versions of Intel Microprocessors.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), VIA Technologies, Silicon Integrated Systems, and Nvidia are Personal computer chipset, manufacturing competitors. Broad com, Marvell Technologies, NXP Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, and Semiconductors are networking competitors. SK Hynix, STMicroelectronics, Spansion, Qimonda, Samsung, and Toshiba are flash memory competitors.
