Timothy Donald Cook (Tim Cook) is an American Industrial Engineer, Business Executive and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple Inc. Timothy Donald Cook is also serving on boards of directors of the National Football Foundation, trustee of Duke University and Nike. He is the first Chief Executive of a Fortune 500 companies to come out as a Gay.
Tim Cook joined Apple as a vice president of worldwide operations in March 1998. He also served as Chief Operating Officer under the co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs. After Steve Jobs, Tim Cook took charge as the Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc.
Tim Cook was born on November 1, 1960, in Mobile, Alabama, the United States of America to Donald (shipyard worker) and Geraldine (worked in a Pharmacy). Tim Cook Graduated from Robertsdale High School. In 1982 he received (B.S) Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University. In 1988 he received his (MBA) Masters of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Tim Cook first met Jobs in a commencement speech at Auburn University, Steve Jobs asked Cook to join Apple. Timothy Donald Cook joined as a vice president of worldwide operations, to make the cost control Cook closed warehouses and factories. He predicted the importance of his group investing a lot of time in flash drives for long term. These flash drives became a key factor of iPod Nano, the iPhone, and iPad, etc.
Cook got promoted to lead operations in 2007 and in 2009 when Steve Jobs was away on a leave because of his health issue Tim Cook served as a Chief Executive. Jobs resigned to his position as CEO and became chairman. on August 24, 2011, Tim Cook was named as the new CEO of Apple Inc. In his leadership, he made tremendous changes in the team and company and lead Apple to be one of the BigFour technology companies among google, facebook, and Amazon.
